The Charles Stuart School was established as a training facility in 1980, and has provided professional training programs for over twenty years. Fully licensed by NYS Education Department, accredited by ACCSCT (Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges of Technology), approved as a vendor for US Veterans Affairs, VESID, DVRS and the School is also certified for federal and state financial aid programs. The School's began its Locksmithing program in 1992, and is the only licensed Locksmithing School in New York State.

Hundreds of students have been trained as professional locksmiths and now are employed by major corporations, agencies, educational facilities, hotels security firms and independently owned locksmith shops. We have just opened our new location in Jersey City, New Jersey, and have the same level of education, training and equipment as our New York location. We are also the only licensed locksmithing school in New Jersey! (The State of New Jersey Department of Education)

The staff and faculty of the School are dedicated to providing up to date locksmith training to our students. The faculty members are still actively working in their trade and continue to update their skills to reflect the advances in the security industry. The training curriculum covers every aspect of the Locksmithing Profession and leads to a license to do business by the New York City Department of Consumer Affairs. Our program is also available for disabled people.

The program's success is based on the concept of “hands on" skills development and uses the model of "learning by doing". A recent study by the Bureau of Labor Statistics listed locksmithing and the security industry as one of the "demand" occupations and project the job openings for locksmiths to be excellent through the year 2008. According to figures from the United States Bureau of Labor Statistics in the next five years, employment in the industry is expected to rise by 11% in the category of total employment and 14% for the wholesale trade.
