How do I know if I have the necessary skills to be a locksmith? Come in to either of our schools, and well give you a free evaluation and tour. Our quick and easy evaluation will quickly determine if you have the necessary mechanical aptitude to make a career in the locksmithing field.
Can I work part-time as a locksmith? Many people keep their "regular" jobs and use locksmithing as a second career to earn additional money. A career in locksmithing is also excellent for both part time and, of course, an exciting primary career.
Are there any age or physical limitations on being a locksmith? No. Locksmithing is a career that you can continue at any age. Our students range from early 20s to 60 year olds! Locksmithing is particularly of interest for disabled people and can provide a wonderful opportunity for a career.
Is there an internship required to be a locksmith? No. When you graduate from our school, you are ready to start work. We teach you locksmithing and the business side of locksmithing.
Is there homework? Are there a lot of books to read? There is only 1 book to read, and no homework. All work is hands-on. Our skilled instructors provide instruction on locksmithing subjects and topics, and compliment this with one-on-one training. We'll also go on location to work on automobiles locks and ignitions systems.
What tools do I need?
Our school provided you with a basic set of Locksmithing tools that are yours to keep upon successful graduation. These fine tools will serve you well as you continue your career in locksmithing.
How much is tuition and how can I afford it? Tuition varies with the type of program you select. We have financing available and will help you in this area.
I can't attend classes during the day.... are evening classes available? Yes. We have an evening program that allows you to attend our school after your "normal" working hours.
When can I come in for a tour the school and take the mechanical test? We are available during the day and evening. Please call and we will schedule a no obligation appointment for you.
What sort of government programs does The Charles Stuart School work with? Our school works with many government agencies. We are associated with VESID, DVRS, The Veterans Agency, Work Force and I-20. Please call for more information.
